About Great Country Timber Frames
In 2015, we started our sister company Great Country Timber Frames to serve the timber frame home and commercial project market. Building on a 30-year tradition of hard work and craftsmanship, we designed, engineered, and built our 17,000+ square foot manufacturing and design facility in Ellington, CT in 2015.
Housed within the facility is a state-of-the-art CNC timber processing machine. The CNC machine cuts mortise & tenon joinery with extreme precision. When timbers are joined together with wood connections, as is the case in true timber-framed buildings, the more precise the joinery, the stronger the frame. In an effort to maintain a “green” facility, waste from the machine, including sawdust and wood scraps, are transported via a dust collection system and compressed into bio fuel briquettes called “Timber Pucks.”

About The Brand
Look for this Brand as our promise of quality materials and workmanship in everything we make.
We value hard work, determination, and commitment. For over 30 years, we’ve built more than buildings. We’ve built trust, value and friendships. We treat you like family.
It really was a pleasure working with you guys. We found The Barnyard via a web search, and immediately recognized the Newport model as the type of barn we had been thinking about. We visited their site in Ellington to see the buildings in person. Once we had met the folks in Ellington we knew we wanted to work with them. They worked with us as we designed the barn we wanted, and their stamped blueprints made our local permitting process a breeze. The local site contractor they recommended for the foundation work was excellent. Once the foundation was done, The Barnyard gave us a final construction date and they never missed any deadline. The building was standing after the first day, and they were completely finished after 5 days. The construction crew was as friendly and professional as we've ever worked with, and that made them just like the rest of the folks we dealt with at The Barnyard.
