A lot’s changed at our New Manufacturing & Design Facility since our last blog post. The exterior of the building is now complete and the landscaping is going in. Inside, the drywall is up and timber frame accents are in place.
We thought Hollandia Nursery, of Bethel CT, did such a great job on landscaping our Bethel Showcase Location that we decided they should landscape our New Manufacturing & Design Facility as well. They worked hard to make sure everything fit our western theme and they got the job done in about a week. The landscaping really completes the building, adding a lot to the overall fit and finish. Now that irrigation is in place, next up is the lawn.
You can see by the pictures that we put up a rustic fence along the front of the property by the road. This new fence is the same style as an old fence that used to be on the property.
Inside the reception area of the new facility, rustic exposed beams adorn the ceiling and corners of the room, just like our post and beam barns, right down to the arched braces. As you may have guessed, these timbers feature our authentic post and beam joinery. The timbers look reclaimed but are actually specially stained pine! We are timber frame experts and it shows.
Going along with the rustic theme, we sought out an antique desk with a solid wood plank counter as the reception desk.
Moving down the hallway, you’ll find a continuation of the exposed timber frame accents, in the form of arched braces overhead. There are even two large beams in the office at the end of the corridor. We’ve incorporated many exposed posts and beams inside the building and will continue to do more.
The office space is getting drywall and looking very spacious. We can hardly wait to move in!
The manufacturing area is coming along nicely, with much of the infrastructure already in place for our new CNC machine, which will be arriving in early September. This machine is one of only three in America. More on that later.
Inside and out, the new facility, clocking in at 12,614 sq. ft., is shaping up to be one of the best designed, well thought out, and beautifully unique buildings in Ellington.
